Disneyland Shanghai Part 1
The cheapest way to get from Michigan to New Zealand was to fly through Shanghai! Couldn't resist spending time at Disney!! Our first ride at Disneyland Shanghai was Pirates of the Caribbean! It was AMAZING and is my absolute favorite ride!!

Shanghai With Kids
Our first adventure into the city of Shanghai did not disappoint. We went to an area that had some beautiful architecture and temples....the type of China you imagined as a kid. We visited the Yuyuan Gardens and a nearby temple. The surrounding area was beautiful and gave us plenty to explore for the day. -
Disneyland Shanghai Part 2
We had a blast riding some familiar rides and comparing them to Disney World and Disney Paris. We also really enjoyed trying some rides unique to Disneyland Shanghai! -
Shanghai With Kids Part 2
We had a great time checking out a more modern area of Shanghai. We navigate our way through the subway system, bathroom problems, and extreme heat! Chris contemplates the possibility of a man bag. Here is our journey back into the city! -
Disneyland Shanghai Part 3
This is our final Shanghai video!! We take you back to Disneyland Shanghai where we have a blast doing all attractions unique to Shanghai! Our inner Ninja Warrior comes out on the ropes course, while our mischievous pirate side comes out as we contemplate taking treasure home to New Zealand! Hallie cries during the Tarzan show because she doesn't like them swinging through the air on the aerial ropes and we see the neatest stunt show with people getting blown up and down through the air!

Kuala Lumpur With Kids- 12 Hour Layover
We consider ourselves budget travelers...we try to do things as cheaply as possible. In the case of Kuala Lumpur, it came back to haunt us! We ended up having a sleepless night and 3 kids who didn't get much sleep at all. We debated getting a hotel for the 12 hours and sleeping, but in the end we decided to live life to the fullest and go out and explore Kuala Lumpur. So thankful we did! -
First Day in New Zealand | New Zealand With Kids Ep. 1
After a week in China and a 12 hour layover in Kuala Lumpur, we have finally made it to New Zealand! We are exhausted, but so full of excitement about what is to come. Despite Chris' disapproval, we couldn't help ourselves from trying our first taste of New Zealand candy at the airport. We knew nothing and it seemed so scary to go out...drive...and figure out where to buy things...but we did it! Here is our first 24 hours in New Zealand! -
Buying a Car in New Zealand | New Zealand with Kids Ep. 2
It's time to figure out our new life in New Zealand. Chris started work and Cindy had to figure out how to entertain the kids in this new place. It seemed intimidating getting out separately, but it had to be done. The most important task was to find a car, which turned out to not be as easy as anticipated.

Rotorua | New Zealand with Kids Ep. 3
It's time to take a break from figuring out our new life in New Zealand and do something fun! We took our first trip to Rotorua. It was the most amazing experience! We visited Wai-o-tapu Geothermal Wonderland, Kerosine Creek, and The Living Moari Village. It made all the stress of moving totally worth it!
Note: Do your research about natural hot springs and safety before swimming and read all warning signs. Be sure not to put your head under the water.

The Great Kiwi Hunt | New Zealand with Kids Ep. 4
New Zealand is known for Kiwi birds, right?!? Did you know that they are extremely rare to see in the wild? We set off to find one, despite hearing it was almost impossible. Here is our journey trying to find a Kiwi in the wild and what we learned along the way. In between Kiwi hunting, we took our van on a boat and checked out the most gorgeous beach...Elliott Bay!
#travel #newzealand #Kiwi
Nestled on the west coast of New Zealand lies the most beautiful secret beach with a cave and mermaid pool! No one really goes here. When you show up, there may be a few locals, or it might just be you!
This beach takes some effort to get to, but it is SO worth it! To get to this beach you need to park at the Arai-te-Uru car park and take the Waimamuku Coastal Track. This track takes you up and down along the coast. It has the most amazing views making the trek quite enjoyable! It is a moderate 3km one-way trek taking an average adult 40 to 45 minutes.
This beach is best at half-tide or lower. Once the tide comes up, it starts to cover up some of the tidal shelves and mermaid pools. It’s also a good idea to have sandals or water shoes so you are able to explore the tidal shelves.
Do be careful at this beach. The waves are intense and all the tidal shelves make the currents unpredictable. In our video of this beach, Chris shows you a rip current and how it takes you out to sea.
I hope you enjoy this little slice of paradise! Here are the GPS coordinates for this spot: -35.538134 173.372711
